My Granny used to make it and it was a family favorite. I compared your version to hers, which is typed (on a type writer) and compiled into the Oakhurst Women’s “Best Recipes” dated 1980. oh my heart!! Thank you for your site. I’ll be trying more recipes from here I’m sure.

You’ll want to allow at least an hour to chill and set, but if you have more time that’s even better for helping the layers stay intact while slicing. You can even make it ahead the night before!
