Frozen Whiskey Sour Slush
You've never tasted a frozen drink like this one! This old-fashioned whiskey slush recipe is sweet, sour, and strong! It's a go-to for our family on vacations and pool days!
- Ice enough to fill blender halfway
- 4 oz frozen orange juice 1/3 of 12-ounce can
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice fresh squeezed
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Maraschino cherry juice
- 4-6 oz. Canadian Whiskey
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Fill the blender halfway full of ice, then add remaining ingredients.
Blend on slow to get it started, then increase blender speed until everything is mixed to a slushy consistency. Add a touch more water or whiskey as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
Serve in pretty glassware of your choice. Top with one or two maraschino cherries
We always made these with Canadian Whiskey, usually Canadian Club or Canadian Mist. This is a family recipe, and this is how the family made it. It always tasted good with these labels. I cannot vouch for any other type of whiskey, though your favorite bourbon or rye may work fine.
To make this batch, I used Canadian Club and a pint only cost $6.99. That was enough for about three batches, so it’s an economical recipe for a group gathering.
I made it for a recent pool party and everyone that tried a cup really liked it. With all the orange juice it almost tasted healthy.
Since it is alcoholic, always serve and drink responsibly my friends.
