Ingredients

  • 1 meaty ham bone
  • 1 bag 15 bean soup mix (20oz bag) + flavoring packet from bean package
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Add ham bone and 8 cups of water to a stock pot, cover and boil for 1 hour.
  • Add the beans and seasoning packet, garlic, salt and pepper. Put the lid back on the pot and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the ham bone from the pot and cut the meat off the bone.
  • Add the meat back to the pot, cover, and simmer for an additional hour.
