Granny’s Peach Fuzzy Recipe

Daiquiris and other frozen cocktails were popular back in the sixties and seventies. They were simple to make, not too alcoholic, and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Granny had two favorite summer frozen drinks: lime daquiris and Peach Fuzzys. Lime daquiris were great because you could always keep the ingredients handy. Peach Fuzzies were seasonal, to be enjoyed only during peach season in the summer.

Granny’s peach fuzzy recipe will become one of your favorite light summer cocktails. We make it with juicy fresh peaches, vodka, frozen pink lemonade, and a blender of ice. Made with real peaches, it’s icy and flavorful and never tastes watered-down!

Our version was always made with vodka but if you prefer rum, that will work as well. While this cocktail has alcohol, it’s not super strong and is refreshing during the warmer weather.

Peach Fuzzies are simple to make, and it really celebrate the taste of fresh peaches when they are in season.

Making peach fuzzies is as easy as putting a few ingredients in your blender and pushing the on button! Granny would often make these when friends stopped by or to serve at family picnics or potlucks. Everyone loved them and they got rave reviews!

Prep Tips

  • Storage – Any leftovers can be stored in the freezer and thawed slightly before enjoying. Be sure to store in a freezer-safe container.
  • Yield – Depending on the size of the glassware used, this recipe will make 2-4 servings. If using tall hurricane glasses, it will be about 2 servings. If served in half-pint mason jars, you will get closer to 4 servings. Both are shown in photographs here.
  • Spirits – The original recipe calls for vodka, but this can also be made with light rum, making it very similar to a frozen peach daquiri.
  • Peaches – We used fresh peaches for this recipe, as the peaches are really the star here. However, in a pinch, you can use frozen peach slices any time of year.
