Cheesy Ranch Party Mix
A neighbor gave this recipe to Granny about 25 years ago. Since then, my sister makes it every Christmas to eat, serve, and give as gifts. It’s one of those things you can’t stop eating, so it’s best to give away as much of it as you can.
The basic recipe makes a lot, about three gallons of party mix. That gives you plenty to eat and plenty to share!
If you like Chex mix then you MUST try this!! We switch it up between Chex cereal and Crispix — both taste fantastic in this recipe!
It’s cheesy, crunchy, and has that zesty tang of Ranch seasoning — it’s perfect!!

Ranch Party Mix Ingredients
- Crackers, pretzels, nuts, Bugles, and cereal — you’ll want about 8-10 different varieties
- Light oil — I used light-tasting olive oil
- Dried dill weed
- Lemon pepper
- Garlic powder
- Dry ranch dressing mix — One (1oz) packet
You can use so many different things in this cheesy snack mix. I made my version with as many gluten-free things as I could. If you don’t have to worry about that, feel free to add any and all of the following:
- Any kind of cheese cracker — The more the merrier! Use three or four kinds even!
- Pretzels
- Bugles — This is my personal favorite so I added two bags because there are never enough!
- Sesame sticks
- Rye crackers
- Oyster crackers
- Peanuts
- Cereal — Chex mix is a traditional one, but I love Crispix too!

After that 15 minutes is up, take the mix out and give it a stir. Put back in oven and set your timer one more time for 15 minutes.
After 45 minutes total, remove from oven and allow to cool.
How to Store Snack Mix
Allow snack mix to cool completely before you put it into storage containers.
If you store it in an airtight container, it can keep for several weeks. You can use food storage containers, large ziplock bags, or even mason jars (which look super cute for gifting!)
